Our Big Open Day
Every year, as part of National Heritage Week, the Irish Seed Savers Association host our biggest open day of the year. This year proves to be no exception and on Sunday 28th August Irish Seed Savers are inviting the nation to come visit and celebrate ‘The Great Irish Garden’.
Free talks, tours, tastings, guest speakers including Jim Cronin and his 'No Dig Garden' to Frank Benson from the Banner Bee Keeping Association. There will be something for the beginner and avid gardeners alike and weather permitting, there will be a children’s treasure hunt too. On the day we will have a selected menu in our cafe and our Cob Pizza Oven will be fired up. Come visit, learn about our vital conservation or just come for a chat, a cup of tea and cake in a fun, friendly atmosphere.
With over twenty acres of organic seed gardens, native woodland trails and heritage orchards it’s going to be a fun filled day, but this year it’s just that little bit more special. This year marks the 25th year anniversary of Irish Seed Savers and we were recently awarded a grass roots grant based on an application submitted to Patagonia. The project is well under way and as part of it, we now have dedicated trails and signage throughout our grounds. This has given the gardens and orchards a huge face lift and makes it a must visit tourist attraction for County Clare.
