The University of Latvia is proud to host the 13^th International Barley Genetics Symposium (IBGS 2020) from Sunday, 5 July to Thursday, 9 July 2020. The venue for the Symposium will be the National Library of Latvia next to the University of Latvia campus.

The University of Latvia, the Latvian Society for Geneticists and Breeders and the Priekuli Research Centre of the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Economics, Latvia University of Agriculture cordially invite you to attend this major event for barley geneticists and breeders, which for the first time will be hosted in Eastern Europe. As usual, the IBGS 2020 will bring together barley genetics community from all over the world to share knowledge and resources for this economically important and scientifically exciting crop plant and model organism.

Located on the Baltic sea coast, Riga, Latvia is an old Hanseatic city, which for centuries has served as a bridge between East and West. Currently, Riga is a major economic and cultural hub offering both traditional sightseeing opportunities and a multitude of recreational activities. The fourth day of the Symposium (9^th July) will include a tour of barley field trials at the Priekuli Research Centre and a farewell party on the grounds of medieval castle of Cesis.
